Who are we?
We are a free peer mentoring, coaching and signposting service for General Practice.
We have recently launched new schemes to support General Practice through COVID-19, find out more below.
What do we offer?
Since 2015 we have offered free peer mentoring, coaching and signposting to GPs.
GPs who are eligible can contact us to be linked to an appropriate peer mentor within a number of days. Individuals can then access up to 4 sessions of support lasting 2 hours each over 12 months to discuss anything they’d like in confidence and work to create positive steps forward.
GP-S can be used by anyone who would like to explore ways to develop themselves or have a problem or opportunity they’re not sure how to move forward with. This could be personally, professionally or within your career. We aim to build resilience in the General Practice workforce by allowing you time and space to develop your personal goals.
Since April 2020, as a direct result of the pressure of COVID-19 on the wellbeing of General Practice we have launched 2 new schemes:
Rapid Access Support Sessions
These are available for all GPs and Practice Managers in Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Humberside, Telford and Wrekin, Shropshire and Staffordshire for free. This is a listening and signposting service. Individuals can be linked with a trained peer within 48 hours of initial contact and can access video or phone support totalling 4 hours to be taken in a way that works for you e.g. 8 × 30 minute sessions.
Nurse Peer Support Group – Via Zoom
This is a free weekly zoom meeting for up to 8 Nurses from Primary Care in Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire. The meetings are led by two experienced mentors. These are used to discuss how you are feeling, share ideas with your peers and hopefully support you moving forward.
How Do I access a scheme?
You can sign up to all our services by using our quick online contact form here or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone during normal office hours on 0115 979 6917 – just state you’d like Nurse Peer Support Group, Rapid Access or GP-S Mentoring.
